Film permits are required for film, video or still photography shoots on public property in the
City of Hollywood. The Hollywood Police Department issues the permits and coordinates any City
services that may be needed. Please call (954) 967-4544 for more information or download the application

All applicants are required to pay fees for film permits in the City of Hollywood. You can expect daily
rates for parking or police services and there is a fee to obtain a permit for a generator.
Film Permit Procedure
The following requirements are needed to secure a permit:
- Certificate of Insurance which includes the following:
- Name of the insured production company
- Name of the insurance company
- A policy which provides at least $1,000,000 of Comprehensive General Liability
- Policy number and dates of coverage
- Certificate holder should be named as follows:

- Completed film permit application which includes the following:
- Dates
- Times
- Parking requirements (number and types of vehicles)
- Size of cast and crew
- Description of scenes
- Approximate budget
- Script excerpts or location maps may be requested depending on the project.
- If the location is in a neighborhood or near businesses, we request that
you distribute a notification letter to all affected by the shoot as far in advance as possible.
- The permit must be signed by an authorized representative of your company.
- With the above requirements met, a film permit can be issued within 3-4 business days;
all production projects will require meetings and a location scout with City Departments
prior to issuing a permit.
