Traffic Homicide Investigations,
DUI Enforcement
and Hit and Run Investigations

The Traffic Homicide Unit is comprised of two specially trained teams of Police Officers and Community Service Officers (CSO’s) under the direction of Sergeant Tom Demmery.

Traffic Homicide Investigations and DUI Enforcement: The THI/DUI Unit is comprised of four Officers patrolling in unmarked vehicles specifically targeting drivers under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and aggressive driving offenders. These Officers are also trained in the investigation and reconstruction of traffic fatalities and serious injury crashes.

Hit and Run Investigations: The Hit and Run Unit is comprised of three Community Service Officers (CSO's) that conduct follow up investigations of all Hit and Run crashes that occur in the city. The CSO's are also trained in the investigation of traffic fatalities and serious injury crashes.
