B-TIP:
Is
a program run by the State Attorney's Office to combat truancy. The program
mainly deals with compliance from parents in getting their children to
attend school. Another component involves truancy sweeps by police.

BOYS/GIRLS
CLUB:
The purpose of the club is to help young people ages 7-17
improve their lives by building self-esteem and developing values and skills
during their critical period of growth. Services and programs provided focus on
everything from education, social recreation, health and physical education, to
leadership and citizenship development, cultural enrichment, and personal
adjustment with one-on-one counseling. The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs is
to assure and to enhance the quality of life for children as participating
members of a diverse urban society. The club hosts a teen pregnancy group, RBI baseball tournament and computer
lab, as well as other programs.

CIP: (Critical Incident Plan)
Is a comprehensive security plan designed by
the Hollywood Police Department for every public school in the City. School

POMC is the only national self help organization to offer support and
information about surviving the loss of a loved one. Meetings for the

Students Against Destructive Decisions is a nationwide organization dedicated

STARS
(Steering Teens Toward Academic Rewards and Success):
A program administered by the school board that is designed to identify
students at risk of dropping out and providing them with tutorial help.
This program is closely affiliated with the Youth Mentoring Program.

STOPPERS:
Students are encouraged to anonymously report any crime via a TIPS
phone line and can
receive a reward up to $100 for information leading to an arrest. A
code number is given when you call.

TAKE STOCK IN CHILDREN:
Caring adult volunteers with specialized training by the Broward
School Board, helps deserving children achieve academic and civic

COURT:
This program is designed for 1st and 2nd time offenders of minor
violations of the law that admit guilt. The program conducts hearings
at the Main and Satellite Courthouses in Broward County. The arresting officer refers the offender.
